Here's the thing. A lot of us were not taught how to handle money as kids. Maybe our parents wanted to shield us from fear or risk, maybe they just wanted us to grow up free of worry, or maybe they had their own bad habits that they didn't hide well. Add that to our generation's crippling student loan debt, changes in the economy, and the fact that almost none of us can count on one steady job with one company and one retirement account for the rest of our lives...and you're left with a lot of people who don't know what to do with their money.
I can help. I've spent my adult life so far learning how to manage my own money, despite not being given much guidance (I love you, mom. You've given me so much in so many other ways). I've learned to build a flexible budget that works for variable income, paid off credit card debt, paid off student loan debt, and started planning for either buying a house or moving to another country for a couple of years (or both?!).
I've also worked with friends and co-workers to get their financial lives set straight. Most of us just need a helping hand, a push to start paying attention and being intentional about our financial choices.
And ultimately, that's my goal for everyone: get paid what you're worth and make intentional choices about what to do with that money. Don't let potential savings or investments (or even just money splurged on something fun) slip through the cracks because you were afraid to face your finances. Let's face it together.
We'll talk through your income, expenses, and create a personalized budget you can stick to.
We'll talk through your income, expenses, and create a personalized budget. Once a month for 3 months, we'll check in to see how things have been going, where your budget needs adjusting, and where your habits might need to change.
For those who really need ongoing help. We'll talk through your income, expenses, and create a personalized budget. Once a month (or even more frequently) for as long as you need, we'll check in to see how things have been going, where your budget needs adjusting, and where your habits might need to change. This can go on as long as you need, but like a good therapist, I'll be respectful of your time and money, and let you know when I think you're ready to fly on your own.
